Prof. Rajkumar Buyya

Dr. Rajkumar Buyya is a Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor and Director of the Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems (CLOUDS) Laboratory at the University of Melbourne, Australia. He is also serving as the founding CEO of Manjrasoft, a spin-off company of the University, commercializing its innovations in Cloud Computing. He has authored over 850 publications and seven textbooks including “Mastering Cloud Computing” published by McGraw Hill, China Machine Press, and Morgan Kaufmann for Indian, Chinese and international markets respectively. Dr. Buyya is one of the highly cited authors in computer science and software engineering worldwide (h-index=155, g-index=342, and 127,200+ citations).  Dr. Buyya is recognised as Web of Science “Highly Cited Researcher” for six consecutive years since 2016, IEEE Fellow, and Scopus Researcher of the Year 2017 with Excellence in Innovative Research Award by Elsevier. He has been recognised as the “Best of the World” twice for research fields (in Computing Systems in 2019 and Software Systems in 2021) as well as “Lifetime Achiever” and “Superstar of Research” in “Engineering and Computer Science” discipline twice (2019 and 2021) by the Australian Research Review. Recently, he received “Research Innovation Award” from IEEE Technical Committee on Services Computing and “Research Impact Award” from IEEE Technical Committee on Cloud Computing.

Software technologies for Grid, Cloud, and Fog computing developed under Dr.Buyya’s leadership have gained rapid acceptance and are in use at several academic institutions and commercial enterprises in 50+ countries around the world. Manjrasoft’s Aneka Cloud technology developed under his leadership has received “Frost New Product Innovation Award”. He served as founding Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing. He is currently serving as Editor-in-Chief of Software: Practice and Experience, a long-standing journal in the field established 50+ years ago. Prof. Jeremy Blackburn

Jeremy Blackburn is an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Computer Science at Binghamton University. Jeremy is broadly interested in data science, with a focus on large-scale measurements and modeling. His largest line of work is in understanding jerks on the Internet. His award winning research into understanding toxic behavior, hate speech, and fringe and extremist Web communities has been covered in the press by the likes of The Washington Post, the New York Times, and Infowars, among others.

Jeremy has an Erdos-Bacon number of <= 7, has been quoted by Zizek, and has had at least one League of Legends account permabanned.


Prof. Maria Valdes Hernandez

Maria Valdes Hernandez is a Lecturer in Medical Image Analysis at The University of Edinburgh. Maria is broadly interested in image processing and image analysis. She was graduated with merits as Electronic Engineer and MSc in Electronics from the Central University of Las Villas, Cuba, PhD in Electronics and Informatics from Gunma University, Japan. She also obtained the Post-graduate certificate in University Teaching from The University of Edinburgh, UK. She also has several high impact publications in journals, invited oral presentations and software expositions nationally and internationally.

Maria has reputation in establishing successful national and international collaborations that are leading to further grants and institutional collaborative programmes.

Dr. Adhiguna Mahendra

Adhiguna Mahendra finished his undergraduate in Computer Science from the Universitas Indonesia. He received his M.S. degree in computer vision and robotics from the University of Heriot-Watt, U.K., in 2008, and his Ph.D. degree in machine learning and computer vision from the Universite de Dijon, France, in 2012.

He is the Chief of AI and products with Nodeflux, a leading AI Vision company in Indonesia, leading the implementation of AI products, such as the video analytics platform, biometrics eKYC platform, and retail visual analytics platform from the product design, algorithm development, operationalization (MLOps), and commercialization.

He is actively been in the industry with over 20 years of experience building intelligent systems based on AI and machine learning for global and national companies in Europe, Singapore, and Indonesia in verticals, such as oil and gas, industrial automation, aviation, logistics, smart-city, and B2B eCommerce.

He is currently a Lecturer of data science and enterprise architecture in the Master of Information Technology with Swiss German University. Adhiguna is also a Lecturer of business analytics in the MBA Program at Central Queensland University. He received the Best Lecturer Award from Swiss German University in 2018.

He has publications in SPIE, ICME, ICODSE, and IEEE and served as a Reviewer for the International Conference on Engineering and Information Technology for Sustainable Industry (ICONETSI), in 2020.

Adhiguna is also a team of formulators for the National AI Strategy 2020 Ministry of Research and Technology Republic of Indonesia, AI Competency Standard Ministry of Information Technology Republic of Indonesia 2021, and Indonesia Manufacturing Center Ministry of Trade Republic of Indonesia 2022.

AFM. Dr. Ir. Rudy Agus Gemilang Gultom, M.Sc., CEH., CIQaR.

Air First Marshal Dr. Rudy Gultom graduated from Indonesian Air Force Military Officers School in 1991, and served as an Electronic Data Processing (EDP) officer, with the rank of First Lieutnant, at the Data and Information Services of the Indonesian Air Force Headquarters in Jakarta, up to 1999.

He finished his first degree in Informatics (Ir.) from Gunadarma University, Jakarta in 1991, and his M.Sc. in Telematics, Department of Computer Science, from the University of Sheffield, U.K. in 1998. He received a British Chevening Award Scholarship for Master degree program in U.K.

In 2000 he served as a Head of Data and Information Processing Services at the National Air Defense Command (Kohanudnas) in Jakarta, and gained his Doctor (Dr.) in Information Technology, Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering from University of Indonesia, Depok, in 2012, after which he moved to the National Resilience Institute of the Republic of Indonesia (Lemhannas RI) in 2006. He received another scholarship from the Lemhannas RI for Doctoral degree program at the University of Indonesia.

He moved to the Republic of Indonesia Defense University (RIDU) in 2017 and he got promoted to become an Air First Marshal (one star rank) in 2022. While working as a Vice Dean for Faculty of Defense Technology, he was also lecturing various subjects related to ICT, IoT, AI, Big Data, Data Communication, Computer Network and Cybersecurity, at the Republic of Indonesia Defense University.

He produced plenty of international research papers published in Scopus indexed publisher. He holds four national copyrights (HAKI) and he is the author of cyber warfare book, with the tittle “Cyber Warfare: Are We Ready To Deal With It?”, published in 2019.

He took several information technology and cyber security courses from various world-renowned educational institutions such as the Institut Des Hautes Etudes De Defense Nationale (IHEDN), Paris, France in 2015 and from the National Defense University (NDU), Washington DC, USA in 2016, also from the Naval Posgraduate School (NPS), Monterey, California, USA in 2016, etc.
